The Friends of the Hillsboro Public Library is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization which exists to benefit the library. The Friends' chief fundraising activity is selling the books, videos, CDs and other items donated to the library and/or culled from the library’s collection.
The Friends sell many of these items on Amazon Marketplace, usually maintaining an online inventory of over 5000 items. This activity generates several thousand dollars each month. Here’s a link to our online inventory: amazon.com/shops/tanasbooks
Items that don’t fit on Amazon Marketplace are sold in the Friends’ Biannual Book Sale, held each fall and spring in the Main Library Meeting Room. The next sale will be held from May 1-10. Additional items are added every day, so come early and come often! Books are also for sale every day on the shelves lining the corridor between the Coffee Court and the Meeting Room of the Main Library.
In addition to selling books, etc., the Friends sell See’s Candy, Book Lovers’ desk calendars, tote bags, and headphones. All of these items can be purchased at the Welcome Desk in the Main Library.
For your convenience, the Friends purchased an ATM machine for the Main Library Lobby. $1.40 of the $1.50 fee goes to the Friends.
Our Spring Book Sale will be held May 1-10, 2009 in the Main Library Meeting Room. The sale is open the same hours that the library is open. Items are added every day throughout the sale, so come early and come often!
